Holiday Baking: Apple Frangipane Tart

It’s officially the holiday season and you know what that means, it’s time to step your baking game up.

Heading into Thanksgiving I had some leftover apples and slivered almonds and I wanted to use them in a unique dessert for Thanksgiving. The end result ended up being this Apple Frangipane Tart. I adapted this recipe from the BBC recipe.

This dessert comes together in less than 10 minutes and bakes in 25 minutes. It’s simple to whip up and is sure to impress!

Happy National Book Lovers Day! That’s right, today is a national holiday that everyone should celebrate. Whether you’re a fan of mystery, thrillers, sci-fi, or historical fiction, there’s a book for you… Or if you’re like me, a lover of all things food, there’s even a [cook]book for you! Everyone should celebrate National Book Lovers day.

In honor of the holiday, I want to share my top 6 FAVORITE cook books. I use cookbooks for different purposes, sometimes to cook a recipe exactly as outlined, sometimes for inspiration, other times just for the writing and pictures, and in some cases just out of pure enjoyment.

Deck Upgrade + Favorite Finds

As many of you know, my husband and I purchased a home about a year and a half ago. Slowly we’ve been upgrading, remodeling, and decorating.

Although kids are going back to school, we still have about a month and a half of the real summer season left. I figured there was no better time than now to get some furniture for our back deck.

Our deck is actually pretty big, and purchasing fancy deck furniture such as sofas, side tables, and picnic tables isn’t a priority right now. I did however want to add a little something to our huge deck.
