One of my favorite morning rituals is making a warm (or iced) drink. Most days it’s coffee based but regardless of what I’m drinking I love to incorporate home made simple syrups.
This lavender brown sugar simple syrup is a perfect add in for teas, spritzers, cocktails, and more specifically, a london fog latte. The balance of the brown sugar and the lavender is just perfect. I think it’s the earthiness of the molasses combined with the earthiness of the dried lavender that makes it a perfect combination.
I purchased organic dired french lavender for this recipe but if you grow your own you can dry that and use it in this recipe as well.
This recipe is simple. It take about 35 minutes total and the majority of that time is infusion time. All you need to make this simple syrup is brown sugar, dried lavender, white sugar, and water.
