It’s week 5 of the One Room Challenge and this means that we have only 3 weeks left to complete the room! I’m sure you’ve probably seen my mood board for the space but if you haven’t CLICK HERE to check it out. It’s been so cool to see all the other DIYers and designers spaces too. Progress
Bed Assembly
I’m so happy that I don’t have to worry about paint much anymore. It was great to put the girls’ bed frames together because it signaled the beginning of the “decoration” phase of this project.
I really liked the idea of having white beds in this room but my mom really wanted to go with black. Because this room is in her house, she had the final say and of course we went with black.
My goodness, I’m so glad we went with the black! It contrasts so well with the white and pink walls and I think it really will add a nice focal point to the room. These are the August Grove Falsterbo platform beds that we got from Wayfair. They were very easy to put together and also very affordable. Because they’re a platform bed there’s no need to purchase a box spring, they only require a mattress.

Hanging Curtains
Curtains introduce a new color into the room (and if you’ve been around for 2 seconds you know that I love incorproating color). These curtains were super affordable and are really adding a little fun to the space.

What’s Next?
More decorating! I want to make some fun banners to hang on the wall above the girls’ beds, I need to hem the curtains, and start working on getting the TV mounted and hanging a gallery wall.
I’m still waiting for a few more decorative pieces to arrive as well. I ordered the rug on Friday and am waiting for the cutest sheepskin storage bench as well.
