3 Under $30 Dresses That I’m Obsessed with + Postpartum Fashion

Today I’m sharing THREE cute dresses that look good on any body shape, but that are also super accomodating for a new (and nursing mom).

One of the hardest adjustments for me during pregnancy and over the last 5 weeks has been seeing my body change so drastically and so quickly. While pregnant, I had to watch my body change to adjust to growing a human…. and now it’s changing again as I lose the “baby weight” while also producing food to keep that human alive.

I’ve been so blessed that I’ve already lost about 70% of the weight I gained during my pregnancy BUT of course my body shape is completely different than what it was before and that means I can’t wear a lot of my old clothing. My hips are wider, my chest is bigger, AND I didn’t exercise at ALL while pregnant, so I have very little muscle definition in my arms and legs.

I went on the hunt and found three dresses you can wear for different activities; fun, work, and relaxation.

FUN: Button Front Tiered Maxi Dress – $29.99

Who doesn’t love a good maxi dress? This look is perfect for a summer picnic or casual backyard BBQ. This dress has functional buttons but it’s also lightweight. The printed fabric screams “SUMMER” to me.

This dress is extremely comfortable and I can see it transitioning well into early fall. It would pair well with a demin jacket and suede boots.

The dress runs a little large to me. I orginally ordered this dress in a size medium but had to exchange it for a small. This small is actually still a little big (and long) on me.

WORK: Floral Print Collared Sleeveless Shirtdress – $24.99

First and foremost, I’m obsessed with the dress because of the buttons and the tie belt. I’ll be able to wear this when I go back to work after maternity leave. The buttons are great for nursing/pumping and the tie belt helps to accentuate my waist.

I’m surprised by the quality of the fabric — especially because it’s only a $25.00 dress. Once the cooler months come in I can throw a cardigan over the dress and trade out my pumps for boots. This dress runs true to size and I’m wearing a size small.

RELAXING: Button front shirred waist dress – $29.99

This is the first dress I bought after coming home from the hospital. I wanted something I could wear around the house when people stopped by to see the baby. I needed something stretchy, comfortable, and of course — something with buttons.

I purchased this dress from ASOS and if you’ve never shopped at ASOS before, you’re missing out. Most of my maternity clothes came from ASOS as well.

I love this dress but it runs extremely small. I’m wearing a size large. Also this dress will probably shrink in the dryer so be sure to hang dry after washing.

[EXTRA]: Tomgirl Jean – $19.99 On Sale!

Yes, I know this item isnt a dress but I couldn’t help but sharing. I’ve seen a lot of people posting about these jeans so I had to give them a try. Until purchasing these jeans I could still only fit into my maternity jeans because my pre baby jeans sit too tight on my c-section incision. These jeans are amazing! They’re comfortable, cute, and super stretchy (even through they don’t look stretchy). They run true to size and will change your life.

  1. Thanks for modeling the dresses -They look great in you! I especially like the shirt dress… a classic style making a comeback. I bought one recently from Macy’s, red and white, easy care and it fits so well belted.
